This collection includes Books 1-3 of the Star-Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides series, Joran, Vadir, and Kash. Join these three alien males as they go in search of love on the far side of the galaxy, on a primitive planet the resident lifeforms call Earth. What do you do when your planet runs out of women? Send for takeout, of course. Joran Joran, Crown Prince of Pyros, needs to claim his mate in order to ascend to the throne one day. The problem? His destined mate isn’t on Pyros. This book contains a redheaded barista who doesn’t believe in aliens, and a prince who is used to getting anything he wants without having to work for it…until now. Vadir Vadir has a business empire to run and no time to spare on frivolous endeavors. So how did he wind up on the far side of the galaxy to claim a mate he never signed up for? A matchmaking queen and a royal decree, that’s how. This book contains a bohemian blonde with a hell of a right hook, and an interstellar tycoon who is about to learn that the best things in life can’t be bought or sold, they have to be won. Kash Kash knows he’ll never be allowed to claim a mate. A lifetime of military service has left him too battle-scarred and broken to be considered for the off-world mating project his rulers have created to save their people. This book contains a hopeful romantic who is giving up hope, and a soldier who is about to discover that love doesn’t obey orders, and it can’t be bound by rules.

This book collects the notes of the lectures given at an Advanced Course on Dynamical Systems at the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) in Barcelona. The notes consist of four series of lectures. The first one, given by Andrew Toms, presents the basic properties of the Cuntz semigroup and its role in the classification program of simple, nuclear, separable C*-algebras. The second series of lectures, delivered by N. Christopher Phillips, serves as an introduction to group actions on C*-algebras and their crossed products, with emphasis on the simple case and when the crossed products are classifiable. The third one, given by David Kerr, treats various developments related to measure-theoretic and topological aspects of crossed products, focusing on internal and external approximation concepts, both for groups and C*-algebras. Finally, the last series of lectures, delivered by Thierry Giordano, is devoted to the theory of topological orbit equivalence, with particular attention to the classification of minimal actions by finitely generated abelian groups on the Cantor set.

Crossed-field Microwave Devices, Volume I: Principal Elements of Crossed-Field Devices focuses on the developments, trends, and approaches in the study of crossed-field microwave devices. The selection first offers information on periodic structures and cathode gun and its static characteristics. Discussions focus on circuits for traveling wave crossed-field tubes; effect of tolerance on interdigital lines; mode spectrum of strapped type magnetron; and electron gun optics and associated static characteristics of injection systems. The text then takes a look at noise and space-charge modes, including preoscillation phenomena in space-charge clouds below the main oscillation threshold; cutoff characteristics of the static magnetron diode; magnetron diode oscillations; and noise in crossed-field electron beams. The manuscript then examines the interaction of beams and circuits, as well as small and large signal theory and experiment. The selection is a valuable reference for readers interested in the elements of crossed-field microwave devices.

We Have Crossed Many Rivers: New Poetry from Africa is a fascinating anthology of some of the finest contemporary poetic voices from twenty-nine African countries. Inspired by the examples of first generation African poets like Wole Soyinka, Christopher Okigbo, Dennis Brutus, and Mazisi Kunene, the poets in this anthology display rootedness in, and preoccupation with, the discourses of identity and political freedom. At the same time, they engage the more contemporary themes of human and economic rights, governance, the natural environment, love, family and generational relations representative of the African continent. Poems from Tanure Ojaide, Yewande Omotoso, Reesom Haile and Frank Chipasula are inlcluded and in all there are contributions from 68 poets.

Historically, a number of methodologies have influenced the appreciation of the Celts within European society. Any attempt to inscribe the Celts into the flow of European intellectual history, therefore, must rely on a number of methodological approaches. As the type of historical record necessary for research varies, so does the method of extracting relevant information from a historical record.
