This enhanced edition of LOVE WINS includes extras such as the complete LOVE WINS COMPANION as well as the book trailer video that started it all and ten brand-new videos featuring Rob Bell discussing each of the chapters. In LOVE WINS, bestselling author of VELVET ELVIS and the 2 million-plus selling Nooma videos, Rob Bell, reveals a secret deep in the heart of millions of Christians-they don′t believe what they have been taught are the essential truths of their faith. Bell brings out to the open and faces squarely the questions on everyone′s mind: Does it really make sense that God is a loving, kind, compassionate God who wants to know people in a personal way, but if they reject this relationship with Jesus, they will be sent to hell where God will eternally punish them forever? Bell goes to the heart of these issues and argues that the church′s traditional understanding of heaven and hell is actually not taught by the Bible. Bell is emphatically not offering a new view of heaven and hell-instead, he closely examines every verse in the Bible on heaven and hell and shows what they really teach. And he discovers that Jesus′s most fundamental teaching about heaven and hell is, "Love wins."

Love Wins, the controversial bestselling book by Rob Bell, attempted to answer this question, which troubles nonbelievers and believers alike. Because Bell challenged traditional, orthodox Christian views of hell and the afterlife, many were left asking: “Are his ideas as reliable and hopeful as they sound? What does the Bible really say about hell?” In Hell, Rob Bell, and What Happens When People Die, Bobby Conway, a recognized authority on Christian apologetics, brings clarity to these serious life and death issues. “Love really does win,” according to Conway, “but it’s through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” Based on a thorough examination of Scripture and a careful analysis of Rob Bell’s propositions, Conway delivers a compelling and concise explanation of hell, the afterlife, and a loving God. The conclusion: Everyone who believes and trusts in Christ has no need to fear the anguish of hell but can confidently anticipate the eternal joy of heaven.

What is our destiny? The final end of humanity and the universe is a subject of perennial interest, especially for Christians. What are we promised? Will anyone finally be left out of God's intentions to bless humanity? What sort of transformation will be needed to enter the presence of God? These questions have been at the heart of Christian teachings about last things. The 2013 Pro Ecclesia Conference of the Center for Catholic and Evangelical Theology focused such issues on the theme "Heaven, Hell . . . and Purgatory?" The six essays in this volume cover a range of topics of interest to Catholic, Evangelical, and Orthodox theology.

Who Will Be Saved? Who Will Be Lost? The past few years have seen the release of several high-profile books, including Love Wins (Rob Bell) and God Wins (Mark Galli), that attempt to clarify what the Bible teaches about the ultimate destiny of individuals after this life. Don Richardson believes the arguments posed by these authors do not account for all the biblical evidence. In Heaven Wins, the best-selling author of Peace Child and Eternity in Their Hearts offers a faith-enhancing, scripturally grounded perspective that changes everything. Are a majority of people destined for hell, as many Christians assume, or will heaven harvest the greater part of mankind? Could it be that the good news is even better and more expansive than we have dared to hope? The answer may surprise you.

God our Savior desires everyone to be saved (1Tim 2:4). Does God get what God wants? Yes, but-- depending on how we read the Bible. The Bible is universal: One God, Sovereign Creator of everything, especially humanity in God's image, God's partner to manage creation. Science and evolution say humanity evolved, gradually acquiring superior capabilities. We have yet to transcend animal nature and acknowledge oneness of creation under God. Humans exploited our semi-divine status, becoming alienated. God chose Israelites/Jews for blessing and reconciling humanity. They exploited chosenness, so God sent the Jew Jesus to reveal God's gracious concern for all people. Roman political and Jewish religious power killed Jesus, but he appeared resurrected to his disciples, who proclaimed him Savior. God gave another Jew, Paul, a vision of Jesus resurrected and appointed him to proclaim God's reconciliation to Gentiles. Paul taught that through the faithfulness of Jesus, Gentiles too become God's people and share Israel's blessings without becoming Jews. All who experience reconciliation share Jesus's partnership with God. We toil and struggle, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe (1 Tim 4:10).

Where do the unrighteous go after death? What is the plight of the guilty after the Day of Judgment? Are places like heaven, hell, and the lake of fire physical locations in the universe? Biblically based and scientifically reasoned answers to these questions, and more, lead to locating the planet Venus as one possible place for perdition. The book Venus: Don't Go There-What Science and Religion Reveal about Life after Death reviews past and present discoveries and provides future evidence for alliance between the physical sciences and the Bible. God ordained the sciences and religion to work together for the common good and to lead toward a comprehensive understanding of the future. Correlation between the Holy Scriptures and the sciences can work together to provide reasonable and meaningful truths. Through interdisciplinary study, the author deduces the ultimate destiny for unsaved humanity could be within the solar system, while providing a unique perspective to life after death.

The term emerging church causes confusion, conflict, and contention whenever it is used. Still, the emerging movement is spreading across America and around the world. Young adults from the millennial or mosaic generation are flocking back to church in droves, when the church speaks relevantly to them. The impact of emerging churches reaches far beyond the narrow walls of church buildings. The millennial generation is content with nothing less than a holy revolution in society. These eager young people purpose to transform the cities of America and the world through living the life of Jesus. Emerging believers are more concerned with life than with doctrine. They are committed to orthopraxy (true behavior) and not just dead orthodoxy. This propels them into situations foreign to most Christ followers. Their aim is a conquest of cities for Christ, and to that end they live out the Jesus life in every aspect of community. Authenticity is their watchword. They are resolved to be real in an unreal world. Members of the emerging churches keep each other honest before God, and they accept nothing less than committed Christian character. The result is a growing revival among the emerging churches.

Christianity finds itself in a "truth crisis" as it struggles within the post modern cutlure for which we find ourselves living. Many of the historical truth claims of the Bible are being re-interpreted, if not rejected, in exchange for an acceptance by a culture who values skepticism, doubt, consumerism and universalism. James Babb, in Post Cards From Another Gospel presents a timely compilation of post modernism and the Church as chronicled through his pastoral experience and observation by providing the reader with a readily accessible look at how the church has embraced much of the culture's philospophy as reflected in many of the movements and trends of the church. Post Cards... effectively details truth compromise as refelcted in such church trends as: . The Seeker Sensivitive Movement . The Emergent Movement . Cultural Relevance . The Prosperity gospel . Social Justice -- and much, much more! The author provides an easy access for a very difficult topic so that the reader is provided with a very clear definable road map in identifying the troublesome trend of assault upon truth; as well as a call for the believer to proclaim historical biblical truth to a culture where such truth is devalued. It is at times light hearted, satirical and humorous, but not light wieght, as it calls for biblical truth to provide a sharpened focus to a culture which has far-too-often blurred the lines of truth in exchange for skepticism.
