One of science's great unsung heroes, Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a prophet of the electronic age. His research laid much of the groundwork for modern electrical and communication systems, and his impressive accomplishments include development of the alternating-current electrical system, radio, the Tesla coil transformer, wireless transmission, and fluorescent lighting. Yet his name and work are only dimly recognized today: Tesla's research was so groundbreaking that many of his contemporaries failed to understand it, and other scientists are unjustly credited for his innovations. The visionary scientist speaks for himself in this volume, originally published in 1919 as a six-part series in Electrical Experimenter magazine. Tesla recounts his boyhood in Croatia, his schooling and work in Europe, his collaboration with Thomas Edison, and his subsequent research. This edition includes the essay "The Problem of Increasing Human Energy: With Special Reference to the Harnessing of the Sun's Energy," which anticipates latter-day advances in environmental technology. Written with wit and lan, this memoir offers fascinating insights into one of the great minds of modern science.

Nikola Tesla (1857-1943) was a revolutionary Serbian scientist who forever changed the scientific fields of electricity and magnetism. His research laid much of the groundwork for modern electrical and communication systems, and his impressive accomplishments include development of the alternating-current electrical system, radio, the Tesla coil transformer, wireless transmission, and fluorescent lighting. His dream of wireless communication came to pass in both the radio and eventually the cell phone. Yet his story remains widely unknown. History buffs, science enthusiasts, backyard inventors, and anyone who has ever dared to dream big will find the life of Nikola Tesla, written in his own words, engaging, informative, and humorous in its eccentricity.

In 1919 Nikola Tesla had his autobiography published in The Electrical Experimenter (Hugo Gernsback's magazine). The entire text was divided into 6 parts and published in February, March, April, May, June and October. Hugo Gernsback wrote an intro to every part and an extra article "Nikola Tesla The Man" that is more about Tesla's appearance. I reckon this article is a very valuable addition for anyone who would like to know Nikola Tesla. Today the text of Tesla's autobiography can be obtained from many sources, but none of them - as far as I know - include Gernsback's intro's and article, nor most of the illustrations. Also, most sources provide a slightly modified text. In most cases these modifications are insignificant, but to get a good feel of Tesla and his time, I believe the only way to do so is to read the original text in the exact same form as it was published in 1919.So here it is, the original text in the original spelling with the original headers, commentaries and illustrations. This is as close as one can get to meeting Nikola Tesla.

The title My Invention Testimony came from the journal I kept as I worked on my invention called "Food Separators." As I was being introduced to the world of inventions, I persevered through a lot of frustrations and hostile ordeals during my learning experiences. I've heard in several sermons from various pastors, including my own, that when one commits themselves to carry out an assignment for God, one would most likely experience an aloofness of family and friends. What a true statement! I did lose a closeness with my family, biological and Christian alike. I became like a plague to them because I no longer did the things I use to do. I wanted, as well as needed, to spend as much time with the Lord as possible. My desire to spend more time with Him brought about undesirable situations with people of whom I used to have a closeness to. Not only did I have personal attacks, but in terms of business, it has been a long and tough journey with my endeavors to get prototypes of my invention, as well as making decisions to manufacture, license, or self-distribute. The decision that I make would determine my success or failure. I had a lot of decisions to make before I could even get my invention on the market. I so often found myself praying and asking God for His direction and guidance. After about six months into the invention process, I heard the Holy Spirit speak to me and say, "Here is your book. Continue to write and place glory on my name." I couldn't believe what I heard, but after hearing the Lord speak, I looked at my journal and realized, Wow, this is a book. I was a little hesitant because I had no inclination of writing a book. The thought never crossed my mind. Besides, I was so caught up in venturing out and searching for information on how to make the right decisions concerning my invention that I didn't have time for anything else. As I stated before, I had no thoughts of writing a book, but I was obedient to God. This book is an actual testimony of almost everything that I've gone through to get this far with my invention. I say almost, because I'm not finished with publicizing my invention, and it is not yet fully on the market. I've done two illustrations with self-made prototypes, and they were a big hit. Everyone liked them, but I still have a long way to go. I thank God for His vision and for allowing me to partner with Him in sharing the experience of this venture.

Aware that the readers like a scientific array, the author strived to satiate this overlooked desirability. The mosaic of topics offered here, was for addressing this forgotten craving. Studying the invented over the years, showed how inventiveness was affected by fiction, intuition, deliberate thinking and the tabooed. Though unlooked for, the author came up with a new "Classification Of Inventions". The connoted proved that inventiveness could be learned. Besides inventing the materialistic, man was also enthused to invent the spiritualistic. This led the author to discuss our changing views on Mythopoeia, Religion, the Expiration of Man, our Distopian Cultures and our global insociability. Thus and so, these subjects were an appropriated connubiality between the materialistic and the established by fuliginous credos. His contrived methodologies, to name a few comprised inventions for: collecting spilt oil lost to the sea; desalting sea water; protecting our affluent and the influential from being spied on or targeted by snipers; severing bloodlessly our skin folds hence winning the battle of the flap. Reluctant to leave his inventions to oblivion or plagiarism, he chose to share them with his readers and to leave them behind for the indulgers of coming generations. Credentials though important, yet intuition as instanced know no boundries for the insighted.
