Get to know the couple (and the houses) behind Old Home Love. Andy and Candis Meredith believe there’s nothing that can’t be fixed. Their passion for saving and renovating old homes, which caught the attention of HGTV, sparked the creation of their new reality series, Old Home Love. Their stunning debut book features never before seen images of more than 15 homes, (including their own, renovated by the couple themselves), do-it-yourself renovation tips and guidance, and their family’s story. Old Home Love will inspire readers to discover the history and beauty behind their own homes, regardless of location or style. Andy and Candis Meredith take dilapidated houses from the 1800s and restore them to their original beauty for future homeowners to cherish for years to come. They live in Payson, Utah with their six little boys and baby girl in tow.

On the morning of February 29, 1704, a French and Indian force invaded Deerfield, MA, the northwesternmost outpost of the colonial frontier. During the raid, 47 residents of Deerfield were killed and 112 were taken captive by Indian raiders who forced their captives to March north in grueling conditions to Canada. "The Boy Captive of Old Deerfield" tells the story of 10-year-old Stephen Williams, one of the 112 residents taken captive in the raid. Smith describes Stephen’s transition from a boy terrorized by all that has happened to him and to those he loves to a boy who, over time, begins to adapt to the Indian way of life. Come follow Stephen as he battles starvation, learns to hunt, escapes dangerous situations and more. "The Boy Captive of Old Deerfield" is a true American classic that should be read by people of all ages interested in understanding the best and worst of early American frontier living.

This first volume of The Grace Trilogy is the extraordinary story of spiritual discovery through a shared friendship of three women who together experienced bonds of grief and compassion. Unexpectedly each of these "spirit sisters" was thrust upon a shared journey, a spiritual quest, in which they discovered connections that transcend the boundaries of the body and even of death. Unbeknownst to Mari, this experience was the precursor to her receiving "A Course of Love."

"America, home of the brave and the free" This is a well-deserved description of America, but it hardly describes the complexity of our great nation. Describing America would be like describing a large, moving picture that is constantly changing. Each of its many components is different than all the others. To understand America one would have to understand every individual, in every culture, in every community. To leave out any piece of the big picture would distort America's image and deny the opportunity to know America itself. This book gives the reader a piece of the big picture that represents a bygone era. As a nation, we have made a lot of progress over the years and we can be proud of our accomplishments, but we should remember, our roots are the foundation of our success. Go back in time with the author to relive the old stories just as they happened in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s in rural Arkansas. Experience the humor, nostalgia, and the tragedy of a bygone era. Each reader will experience something different, but will come away enlightened having enjoyed these glimpses of a simpler time.

This story takes place in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. A man name George moved back to Kentucky after being gone for about twenty years. But when he came back he had three kids with him. And those kids didn’t know any thing about being in the mountains, because they had never been here before. As far as that goes they had never been to any mountains before. But they was about to find out what it was really like to be country kids for the first time in their lives. George came back and found them a house and it needed some work on it so he decided to fix it up, and the kids were going to help him. His oldest boy was Charlie and he was ten years old, and he had two girls Mary and Martha. Now Mary she wasn’t too bad for getting into things which she was only eight year old. But now Martha she was something else, she was seven years old and got into anything she could, she makes poor old George a nervous wreck some time, because he never knows where she is at. He depends on Charlie to help him out a lot with Martha, because he has to work around the house trying to get it fixed up for them to live in. Charlie helps him as much as he can. But since he is only ten years old he can only do so much, but he does a good job watching her as much as he can. And believe me she is a hand full some time. Georges wife got killed in a car wreck a couple years before they came back home. So George was trying to get the kids and him self back in order, because they had all kinds of memories their, and he had to get away from that place It was driving him nuts and he needed a change in things, so he thought he would just bring the kids back home where he came from, and that place was Harlan county, Kentucky.
